dc.description.abstract	佳冬是臺灣客家移民的南境邊界，屬於高屏六堆的左堆，閩南及客家各占一半。由於佳冬客家人傳統上比較重視耕讀傳家，許多人出外讀書求取功名，60年代臺灣由農業社會轉型為工業社會時，所造成的人口外流的影響也比較小。相對來說保留較多傳統農業社會的生活型態，鄉內留有較多縣定古蹟，如蕭家祖屋、楊氏宗祠、西柵門等。另外，羅家、曾家及林家等為數不少的祖堂伙房也相當有名，擁有屏東縣「古蹟之鄉」的美稱。其中楊氏宗祠在1995年因為計畫道路的開闢完整遭到破壞，激發了搶救保存運動，也因此引發佳冬古蹟保護和社區活化的連鎖效應，復活了下六根庄人的文化意識與古蹟的潛藏力量。隨後楊家祖堂重建落成、募款搶救張家商樓成功及六堆詩人漫步路徑的誕生等，大幅開展原有歷史聚落氛圍，形成了結構緊密的客庄聚落人文景點。	zh_TW
